The Center for Health and the Environment (CHE) is a center of excellence within UC Davis’ John Muir Institute of the Environment (JMIE). The focus of research in CHE is the effect of environmental agents, including chemicals and radiation, on the health of humans, animals and other organisms. To investigate these issues, researchers at the CHE conduct epidemiologic studies in human populations, and experiments are performed with animals, organisms, cells, and molecules to measure environmental exposures as well as health outcomes associated with them.

The AQRC mission is to facilitate research on the scientific, engineering, health, social and economic aspects of gaseous and particulate atmospheric pollutants. The air pollution research and education at UC Davis focuses on urban and regional smog, indoor air quality, global climate change, health and environmental effects, and intermedia transfers. Investigations span both gaseous and particulate forms of air pollution, and employ theoretical, numerical, experimental, and policy approaches. Many departments, laboratories, faculty, staff, and students are employed solving these air pollution problems in the service of industry, state and federal governments, and non-profit organizations.

The purpose of the Campus Center for the Environment (CCE) is to increase the visibility, capacity, and effectiveness of individuals and groups engaged in activities to improve environmental education, awareness, ecological health, and environmental justice at UC Davis. As a student-run organization, the Campus Center for the Environment will cultivate environmental leadership and consciousness within the UC Davis community. Unitrans

Unitrans was founded in 1968 as the University Transport System, when the Associated Students of UC Davis purchased two vintage London double decker buses to operate on two routes. In 1972, Unitrans was opened to the general public, with partial funding from the City of Davis. Since that time the ASUCD/City of Davis partnership has continued, and now Unitrans provides public transportation service to the entire city with 49 buses on 14 routes, carrying over 3 million passengers/year (about 20,000 on a typical day).
The Davis Bicycle Collective

The Davis Bicycle Collective is a volunteer-run nonprofit community bicycle organization. We provide a public D.I.Y. shop where folks share tools, skills, and knowledge about bike maintenance and repair. We accept donations of used bicycles and parts from the community and, in turn, make used parts available for anyone else to build or repair a bicycle. We ask all patrons to contribute financially to the cooperative shop, but we dont turn anyone away for lack of funds. Our aim is to empower confident and committed cyclists through education and community building, and to encourage more cyclists by making bikes and bike maintenance, fun, safe and accessible for everyone.
UC Davis Bike Barn

Founded in 1971 by the Associated Students of the University of California Davis, the Bike Barn was first established as a repair facility where the students, faculty, and staff of the university could come and fix their bikes or have repairs done for them. The location chosen for this facility, a dairy barn constructed in 1910, is one of the oldest on campus. Although it has undergone several renovations, the barn has stayed true to its humble roots and nostalgic past.
